Our Katy location near Katy Mills Mall is seeking a full-time Overnight Pet Care Support Technician to provide exceptional care for the dogs and cats boarding with us. The Pet Care Support Team Member is responsible for specific tasks within the resort during overnight hours (“after hours”). Since this role has a major impact on the quality of each pet’s stay, it is imperative the individual be comfortable with, and passionate about, the pets in our care.
The Pet Care Support Team Member also will follow these guidelines: treat all pets with loving care with awareness of their individual needs, handle all pets properly as instructed, follow all policies, procedures and safety guidelines, immediately report health, behavior or safety concerns to their manager and ask for assistance if unsure or uneasy approaching any pet.
The Pet Care Support Team Member is responsible to ensure they complete tasks assigned to them on their daily checklist, including that pawgress reports are completed daily for pets departing the resort, cleaning and operational tasks are completed, departure belongings are prepared, food bowls prepped, etc. They will also be responsible for checking on pets overnight and responding to any pet emergencies.
Responsibilities:
- Report accurate information on the status, activities and behavior of each pet
- Report any health, behavior, or safety concerns to the resort leaders
- Enter information, as directed, regarding pets into Gingr regularly
- Prepare a detailed Pawgress Report, including photo(s) to the pet parents for the day of departure
- Prepare departure belongings for the next day
- Complete cleaning tasks for guest areas
- Prepare food bowls
- Prepare and administer overnight medications, if needed, and as directed by their manager
- Fulfill all other essential functions listed on their overnight checklist
- Assist in other departments, as needed, as directed by their manager
- Respond to pet emergencies and communicate with their manager
- Ensure the building remains secured “after hours”
- Verbally communicate with the closing and opening supervisors each shift regarding any pet concerns/needs
Qualifications:
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and editing software. Knowledge of Gingr a plus.
- Six months to one year of experience caring for pets (either work experience or personal pet experience) preferred, at least 90 days in role as a Boarding Technician or Client Experience Representative.
