Packager - Garden Fresh

Primary Task:

The primary function of this position is to box / pack full finished product containers into cases in a timely manner, observing all safety regulations, ensuring all Good Manufacturing Practices and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.

Essential Functions:

1. Put on all required Personal Protective Equipment and Safety Gear and ensure that all safety devices are functioning properly.
2. Ensure that proper supplies are positioned to assigned workstation, and if not communicate with material handler to ensure that all necessary supplies and materials are positioned to the workstation.
3. Inspect seal placement, making sure labels match, are centered and date is present and legibleand case tag is present and correct if applicable.
4. Adjust settings for box label printer according to work order.
5. Assemble cases (box), pack containers of finished product from the carousel into cases and send full cases to box case sealer and box printer.
6. Clear jams, make minor corrections and adjustments, communicate and assist other production and maintenance personnel as required.
7. Keep work area and storage areas clear, clean and organized and place trash / non-conforming product in proper receptacles.
8. Complete other related duties as assigned or directed by the Supervisor.
9. At the end of shift perform general housekeeping and clean-up as required.
10. All employees of Garden Fresh have the responsibility to report food safety and quality problems immediately to Management or Quality.

1. Must be able to read, write and effectively communicate with co-workers and management as it relates to the job and the safety regulations.
2. Must be able to use, or learn to use, the equipment and tools used to perform the job.
3. Must meet the company performance standards for the job.
4. Must participate in company orientation and training. 
5. Must submit to background check, mandatory drug testing and not possess any significant criminal record as determined by the appropriate authorities.
6. Must be able to work the scheduled / assigned times and required overtime for the position.
7. All employees or applicants must adhere to our Good Manufacturing Policy which includes the following.
8. No Jewelry – no exposed body piercings.
9. No artificial nails of any kind.
10. No artificial eye lashes.
11. No body enhancements such as body glitter.

Specific Job Skills and Qualifications:

1. Must be able to stand and walk for extended period of time.
2. Must complete “Lock-out / Tag-out” awareness training.
3. Must have 20/20 corrected vision.
4. Must know MSDS information regarding all materials used within the scope of the work.
5. Must complete company “Cross Training” (observation, relevant testing, E-stop protocols) as required. 
6. Must have the ability to respond to inquiries and work calmly and effectively under any conditions
7. Must be able to perform all job functions safely
8. Must ensure all GMP, SQF and quality standards are met. 
9. Must be able to work as a team and follow instructions.

 Shift Duration - 8-hour shift (5 days)

 Break cycle - (1) 30 min. (1) 15 min.

 Noise Level Rating - Moderate 

 Job Location - 100% inside / 0% outside

 Temperature Range - 35°to 40°indoor
