Title: Packaging Engineer
Location: Paramus, NJ
Job-Type: FTE/Permanent
The Packaging Engineer will be responsible for directing the engineering activities with the goal of continuously improving safety, productivity, yields, process reliability and manufacturing costs. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of engineering principles and can support the strategic and operational objectives of the business. The successful candidate will possess a high degree of professionalism, enthusiasm and desire to learn.
Essential Job Functions:
The primary function of this job will be to manage and perform the validation and qualification of packaging and filling equipment and new packaging designs
Troubleshoot and optimize the existing packaging and filling equipment to improve throughput and cost efficiency
Perform freeze dryer start-up and qualification as needed
Program software and perform software validation on various types of equipment
Participate in new equipment design, selection and startup
Improve overall equipment reliability for the Company's manufacturing operations
Trouble-shoot equipment performance issues including identification of root cause and prevention of reoccurrence
Perform commissioning and qualification of new equipment
Preparation and review of equipment qualification reports
Supervision of outside vendor and contractor personnel.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
1-3 years of Industrial Experience is desirable, but not required
Experience in a regulated industry is a plus, although not required. This includes work in the Medical Device, Pharmaceutical or an ISO 9000+ registered company
Excellent verbal and written communication and ability to work in a team environment.
