DESCRIPTION:
Millipore Sigma seeks highly motivated, professional, detail oriented applicants for a Logistics Specialist position in the operations group. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for proactive control of inventory within a chemical manufacturing environment. The department is responsible for storage, release, and internal and external distribution of materials following Carillion's Quality and Regulatory Systems. The Logistics Specialist will follow Carillion's Quality and Regulatory system and ensure compliance to Federal, State, and Local laws as it pertains to the storage and shipment of materials. The Logistics specialist is also responsible for any International Laws pertaining to shipments. Inventory management and distribution activities impact manufacturing operations, customers, and financial transactions associated with inventory movement. These activities impact timely order fulfillment which lends to customer satisfaction and retention. The Logistics department is a critical element of Carillion's manufacturing and order fulfillment process.
The Logistics Specialist will be also be responsible for learning company policies and procedures regarding the shipment, receipt and control of materials in order to meet requirements for both effective company operation as well as regulatory bodies. This person will be required to perform duties regarding cycle counting, receiving, shipping, and material movement to support operations within the plant. The Logistics department is a critical element of Millipore Sigma’s manufacturing system. Team members have the opportunity to contribute to the procedures and processes, and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities of Specialist, Logistics:
Responsible for accuracy of inventory counts, identifying discrepancies in inventory counts and taking corrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.
Receiving which includes but is not limited to matching of packing slips to purchase orders, detailed review of material, tagging and identification of material, properly storing material upon receipt, acquiring all required paperwork for receipt process, & posting inventory receipts
Maintain up-to-date records of inventory locations
Issuing inventory and consumable items, perform stock returns (RMA), posting of issues/returns to inventory management software,& deliver material to end user on time
Timely management of expired and non-conforming items
Responsible for shipment of finished goods, materials, sample, and other items in accordance with Carillion policies
Responsible for ensuring that all shipments meet DOT and IATA regulations
Maintain certifications required to perform job duties
Ensure that the work areas are stocked with necessary supplies to avoid disruptions in service. Work with other personnel to maintain safety stocks for each consumable. (ie. Shippers, templates, trays, security bags etc)
Communicate with customer service and operations regarding special shipping regulations where appropriate.
Responsible for daily closeout of orders (posting and invoice printing)
Responsible for ensuring adequate product stock in the distribution area
Participate in documenting processes and identifying areas for improvement focusing on quality, efficiency, & safety.
Maintain a safe work environment, following all company Health & Safety policies
Perform all tasks in accordance with Cerilliant policies, procedures, regulatory and cGMP requirements as applicable and demonstrate capabilities through current training records.
Proactively support activities of other areas and groups within the business
Cross train on the other tasks in the department to provide full service support to the other teams
Proper management of company assets when ordering supplies, traveling, or using the assets.
Requirements:
Successful candidates have an Associates or Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a business discipline or commensurate experience in lieu of a degree.
The successful candidate will be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, energetic, honest, and possess a team attitude. Attention to detail in this position is a must. The position requires excellent record keeping skills. The candidate must be able to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks with composure.
