The salary range for this position is $103,654-129,568 per year based upon a San Francisco location. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and location. We are currently seeking a mid to senior level Packaging Production Artist to join our creative packaging team. Ideally this position is a hybrid onsite role in the San Francisco Bay Area - However, we are open to remote for the right candidate. This is NOT a graphic design role. Candidates without packaging print production experience will not be considered.

Responsibilities:

Primary Function:

The ideal candidate will be an experienced Packaging Production Artist who can seamlessly join a highly productive and fast paced environment. Must be a team player who is fast, accurate and organized. A keen eye for design, typography and attention to detail is essential. Must feel comfortable following strict brand guidelines as well as be able to manipulate graphics creatively when necessary. A thorough understanding is required of the various printing processes and manufacturing techniques for both primary and secondary packaging. A thorough understanding of structure/die-lines is also necessary. Candidate needs to be comfortable using hands and tools to mockup pre-production samples and comps when necessary. Candidate should also be comfortable doing basic photo retouching and 2D renderings using photoshop and illustrator.

Create Print-Ready Mechanicals according to brand guidelines for:

• All Packaging Needs - Secondaries, Primaries, Ancillaries, etc.
• Shade/Ingredients/UPC labels (Base labels, etc.)
• Any additional relevant related print marketing materials
• Layout, revise and prep production-ready mechanicals for the vendor
• Release files to vendor for both sampling and production
• Review and approval of all related print proofs

Requirements:

5-7+ years of packaging production design is required

• Must be proficient in the following software:
• Illustrator
• Photoshop
• InDesign
• Highly motivated and able to take initiative
• Must be able to work independently and in conjunction with cross-functional teams
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills
• Thrive under pressure while managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of common industry printing processes and manufacturing techniques
• Photo retouching and color correction
• Packaging experience in the color cosmetics, beauty and fashion industries preferred
• Comp/prototype experience is a plus.
• Previous packaging production experience is required (print-ready mechanicals)
