About The Position
**Job Title:** Registered Nurse, Preop/PACU **Job Specialty:** Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse, Pre-Op, Perioperative, Ambulatory Care **Job Duration:** 8 weeks **Shift:** Day Shift, Monday - Friday based on surgery schedule **Guaranteed Hours:** 20 hours per week **Experience:** Minimum 2 years **License:** Registered Nurse **Certifications:** None specified **Must-Have:** Specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills **Job Description:** - Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for patients. - Ensure the quality of nursing services delivered. - Utilize specialized nursing skills to assess data and plan, provide, and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. - Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and post-operative planning needs. - Review patient history and physical with patient/family and ensure timely completion. - Analyze information obtained by other healthcare team members and review diagnostics and laboratory data. - Report abnormal results to physicians and other appropriate caregivers. - Complete assessments and reassessments according to patient needs and organizational policy. - Formulate a plan of care, including discharge planning, with input from patient, family, and healthcare team. - Develop realistic and measurable patient goals in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team. - Review and revise plans of care to reflect changing patient needs. - Implement plans of care through direct patient care, coordination, delegation, and supervision of healthcare team activities. - Provide care based on physician orders and nursing care plans while adhering to policies, procedures, standards of care, and regulatory requirements. - Promote continuity of care through effective communication with other caregivers. - Evaluate patient and family responses to care and revise plans as needed. - Document assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record promptly and thoroughly. - Participate in research activities to provide evidence-based care. - Engage in shared leadership and contribute to excellent patient outcomes. - Mentor and precept facility personnel and support their growth and development. - Participate in the education and role development of students, families, and visitors. - Promote safe and equitable care through professional involvement and development. - Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, regulatory, and professional standards.
