Regional Hand Center is growing! This is an exciting time to join our team as an OR RN, in a full time 12-hr Shift M-F (no weekends) opportunity. Our beautiful, well-established, state-of-the art surgery center and clinical practice in North Fresno, CA provides an supportive team environment focused on clinical excellence and patients first. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to develop and refine their skills caring for patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, while working alongside our talented hand surgeons and PA's.
Job Requirements
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):
Education:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse in California.
- BSN strongly preferred.
- Within ninety (90) days of beginning a job in Ambulatory Surgery Unit, the employee will obtain ACLS certification.
- BLS required.
Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year of OR experience.
- One (1) year of previous ambulatory surgery center experience preferred
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Demonstrate appropriate assessment skills for an identified patient population
Demonstrates critical thinking skills by gathering and analyzing patient information, then intervenes appropriately.
- Ability to work with technical equipment e.g. video systems, monitors, basic computer skills
- Good hand/eye coordination especially in the operating room
Identifies patient and family education needs; develops and implements appropriate teaching plan.
Collaborates with medical staff and health care team by participating in organizational quality and safety initiatives to improve patient outcomes
Identifies customer service needs and meets or exceeds expectations. Creates an environment that promotes customer satisfaction and the patient experience
Respectfully communicates both written and verbal information that is accurate, timely, concise and thorough. Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians, etc.
Efficiently organizes and prioritizes individual workload around patient and unit needs. Adjusts activities and plan depending on situation. Seeks to improve personal organizational skills to increase work efficiencies.
Stewards available resources effectively.
Demonstrates professional behaviors and identifies own education and professional growth needs.
- Maintains the confidentiality of information acquired pertaining to patients, physicians, employees and visitors to Regional Hand Center of Central California.
- Behaves in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Regional Hand Center of Central California. Adheres to established performance standards.
Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties in the safest possible manner, to assure personal safety and that of coworkers, patients and families. Uses all available safety equipment. Reports all preventable hazards and unsafe practices including near misses and actual errors either to management
Required Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of nursing theory, practice and age specific needs as demonstrated by successful completion of introductory orientation behaviors for Registered Nurse.
Interpersonal skills necessary to initiate and maintain collegial relationships with coworkers and therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
Critical thinking skills necessary to perform principal duties and responsibilities of job description.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail when planning and performing professional nursing care.
Demonstrate basic computer skills
Ability to walk and stand continuously at least 90% of the time.
Ability to move, lift and position patients
