SPECIAL EDUCATION PARAPROFESSIONAL
INTERNSHIP HIGHLIGHTS
NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! This is considered an entry-level internship. We welcome students, new graduates, and career explorers to apply. We provide in-depth paid training that prepares you to work with students.
Position: Special Education Paraprofessional Internship
Time Commitment: 6 Months
Start Date: flexible - our school operates year round, providing Extended School Year (ESY) services to our students!
Locations: our private school in Newtown, Bucks County
Part-time Schedules: variable shifts between 8:30 am - 3 pm (choose Monday/Wednesday/Friday, Tuesday/Thursday, or Monday - Friday)
Special Education Paraprofessional Interns at Potential Inc. are school interns who work under the supervision and guidance of special education teachers at our private school in Newtown, Bucks County. As an intern, you'll work one-on-one with students (ages 6 - 21) to help with communication, behavior, activities of daily living, vocational skills, community-based instruction, social skills, and academics from your student's individualized education plan (IEP). Our students have struggled in other programs, have challenging behavior, or have an additional medical diagnosis that impacts their learning. Your work helps improve your students' quality of life!
Working as a Paraprofessional Intern is a great fit for those interested in a career in teaching, occupational therapy, speech therapy, childcare, healthcare, or psychology and who thrive in a one-on-one setting where you can see the difference you make in your students' lives every day!

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES WILL YOU GAIN FROM THIS ROLE?
After training, you'll be able to work with children, adolescents, and young adults of varying levels of need, implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy programs following each client's individualized treatment plan, receive and incorporate feedback from your client's Special Education Teachers and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) in future sessions, maintain client safety and confidentiality, and accurately document client sessions by collecting data, writing session notes, and completing service logs (timesheets).

Job Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Able to commit to 6 months with Potential
- Reliable transportation to our school in Newtown, Bucks County
- Ability to engage, play, and keep up with active children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 6 - 21)
- Basic proficiency with technology
- Ability to attend one of our paid training courses
