Reports To: Chief Engineer/Maintenance Manager
Position Summary:
The Painter is primarily responsible for painting, papering and renovations in the rooms and interior common areas of the Resort.
Core responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
Specific Responsibilities:
- General knowledge of all tools and materials needed for the job.
- Ability to work independently to complete projects and tasks assigned.
- Responsible for completion of various reports, logs, and requisitions.
- Paints doors, walls and baseboards.
- Replaces corner guards in hallways.
- Applies protective and decorative coats of paint, lacquer and/or other related materials to interior and exterior surfaces of buildings, furniture, equipment, and other structures.
- Patches holes, textures walls and paint walls.
- Washes, scrapes, sands, torches, and/or smooth interior and exterior surfaces prior to painting, varnishing, lacquering or applying other related materials.
- Does basic carpentry, i.e., cuts baseboards and/or even studs for offices.
- Does all types of caulking, including silicone in showers, kitchen counters, toilets, b-b-q grills, etc.
- Does renovation from setup to finish.
- Installs tile from hallways, rooms, bathrooms, etc.
- Cleans equipment, paint mixing area and work area.
- Operates compressors, striping machines, spray equipment and other small power equipment.
- Installs, repairs and maintains drywall, wall texturing and ceiling acoustic texturing.
- Erects various types of scaffolding and ladders to reach surfaces of work area for Painters and others.
- Other duties as assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Position Requirements (Skills/Abilities):
Experience:
One (1) year of painting and overall interior repair of walls, doors and interior areas experience or, any equivalent combination and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.
Education: High School diploma or GED required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with guests and employees of the organization.
Flexible Scheduling: Must be able to work Evenings, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is required to use his/her hands and fingers to feel, and reach for objects of various sizes, shapes and. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at time.
