POSITION SUMMARY:
The Palletizer role within the Distribution Center (DC) at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” or “Company”) builds pallets in line with Company established standards of safety, quality, and productivity to ensure merchandise is accurately prepared for shipment. This role regularly uses pallet jacks, manual pallet jacks, and radio frequency (RF) scanners.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to satisfactorily complete the Powered Equipment Training Program and attainment of license.
- Ability to satisfactorily complete the Splitting Area Training Program and pass the Splitting Area proficiency test.
- Ability to operate powered industrial equipment and achieve any applicable license.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to comply with established standards is required.
- English speaking, reading, and comprehension skills; bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
- Ability to learn to use a RF scanner and a wrapping machine.
- Ability to meet area productivity, quality, safety, housekeeping, and attendance standards.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The DC warehouse environment is characterized by temperature extremes, noise, movement of conveyors and equipment, and other conditions associated with the operation of a high volume distribution center.
- Should be able to lift and move 50 lbs of material on a regular basis.
- Should be able to bend, lift, stretch, and reach both below the waist and above the head.
- Works primarily in the DC warehouse environment. Must be able to remain stationary and/or continually move for up to 10 - 12 hours per day.
