Position Summary: Pantry
It is the primary responsibility of pantry to prepare food for presentation and set up pantry station. All duties are to be performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions and Tasks:
- Prepares all dishes following recipes and yield guides.
- Ensures all products are rotating on a first-in, first-out basis.
- Ensures all requisitions are processed properly and placed in designated area.
- Properly labels and dates all products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation.
- Applies basic knife skills required for preparation.
- Assists cooks as needed in execution of service.
- Effectively communicates with management and service staff in order to fulfill
- and address any issues or needs requested by guests.
- Maintains complete knowledge of and complies with all departmental policies,
- procedures, and standards.
- Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment.
- Monitors and maintains cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned
- work areas.
- Maintains station with state sanitation/health regulations in mind.
- Maintains professionalism.
- Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
- Adheres to health department codes regarding food sanitation and handling.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the kitchen manager.
Required:
- Food safety certified.
- At least one year of previous experience in a similar position, preferably in a fast
- casual environment.
- Exhibit a basic knowledge, understanding, and application of various cooking
- techniques.
- Maintain solid knowledge of all food products and is able to skillfully apply
- culinary techniques.
- Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation.
- Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
- Be able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 55 pounds.
