Position Overview:

• Job Title: Paraeducator
• Location: Hastings, Nebraska
• Schedule: Monday - Friday 8 AM - 4 PM (37.5 hours/week)
• Pay: $17.50 - $18.50/hour depending on experience
• Type: Temporary-to-Permanent
• Duration: 9-Month Position (Summers Off)

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist students with activities and learning skills initiated by the teacher.
• Support physically and/or mentally disabled students to meet various needs.
• Assist with changing/bathroom needs of students as necessary.
• Supervise students during emergency drills, assemblies, play periods and field trips.
• Arrange learning centers, prepare instructional materials and display students' work.
• Help students with appropriate manipulatives that enhance learning and functioning.
• Provide hands-on support to students requiring additional assistance.
• Maintain composure in unique and stressful situations.
• Ensure a neat and professional appearance at all times.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must complete Project Para training (provided) unless possessing 48 hours of college coursework.
• Ability to pass a background check is mandatory.
• Previous experience working with children or in an educational setting is a plus.
