About the Job
The United States Trustee Program (USTP) is a litigating component of the Department of Justice whose mission is to promote the integrity and efficiency of the bankruptcy system for the benefit of all stakeholders, debtors, creditors, and the public. As a national program with 21 regions consisting of 90 field offices, the USTP has broad administrative, regulatory, and enforcement authorities in bankruptcy cases.

Covered areas: Bankruptcy law, policy & regulation and litigation.
Ideal candidates will have experience with document review and litigation support services. Daily responsibilities include: electronic document collection & processing, reviewing & coding documents for responsiveness, preparing documents (redacting, stamping, conversion. Copying and burning CD’s and following the legal divisions instructions and performing quality control.
SPECIFIC TASKS:Candidates must be able to perform the following specific tasks:
• Analyzes and evaluates case files against litigation worthiness standards, including Program policies and applicable law;
• Notes and corrects case file deficiencies (e.g., missing documents, inconsistent material, leads not investigated);
• Reviews and analyzes available precedents relevant to cases under consideration for use in presenting case summaries to trial attorneys;
• Gathers, sorts, classifies, and interprets data to determine whether enforcement activity is appropriate and makes recommendations to trial attorney;
• Interviews relevant personnel and potential witnesses to gather information;
• Reviews and analyzes relevant statistics;
• May testify in court concerning information gathered and analysis.
Required Qualifications:
U.S. Citizen.
Bachelor’s Degree
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
5 years of litigation support experience.
Knowledgeable of legal principles, terminology, concepts and research methodology.
