Jamison Professional Services, Inc. (“Jamison”) is currently seeking a qualified and motivated candidate for the position of Paralegal/Legal Assistant I in the Atlanta, GA area.
Duty location: Sam Nunn Atlanta Federal Center, Atlanta, Georgia 30303 - telework available up to 2 days per week
Hours of work: The hours of work for the position are 8 hours per day with a 30minute unpaid lunch break, Monday through Friday except government Holidays.
Duties:
Serves as a long term temporary Legal Assistant with responsibilities of providing administrative assistance to the judges and staff of the Atlanta Regional Judges’ Office of the United States Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission (OSHRC). The position may be renewable annually.
Technical day-to-day responsibilities require the incumbent to perform a full range of Legal Assistant duties related to the processing of cases and assists with a variety of legal support tasks and ensures that appropriate data is entered into the OSHRC E-filing case management system.
The incumbent drafts routine orders and types and finalizes decisions and other legal documents that comply with procedural, grammatical, and stylistic requirements.
He/she serves as liaison for the Judges with the parties and the public.
The incumbent tracks time sensitive events by use of the Outlook calendar and the OSHRC Efiling case management system for scheduled hearings and settlement conferences.
The incumbent independently prepares correspondence for the Judge’s signature on routine matters arising from case files.
The incumbent dockets all party submissions using the OSHRC E-filing system and ensures a copy of each electronic submission is printed and placed in the official paper file.
The incumbent arranges for court space and court reporting services and composes, types and signs letters confirming court space arrangements.
The incumbent maintains contact with parties involved in cases in order to apprise the Judge of the current status as hearing dates approach.
At the direction of the Judge, the incumbent cancels hearings and follows up to ensure timely submission of settlement documents once attorneys advise that a case has settled.
The incumbent receives telephone calls and visitors, determining which should be referred to the Judges.
The incumbent coordinates office travel activities and prepares vouchers in accordance with Review Commission policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
The incumbent should have previous Paralegal/Legal Experience.
The incumbent should be familiar with or have the ability to learn Office 365, Sharepoint, Outlook, Concur travel, and an E-filing system.
The incumbent performs other related duties based on the needs of the Office.
Hourly Rate: $21.05 + $4.22 as Health and welfare per hour.
