Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary
Washington, D.C (Hybrid Remote)
MUST:
Experienced Legal Assistant / Legal Secretary
7-10 years of experience as a legal assistant / paralegal
5+ years of experience with Litigation Support required
The ability to E-File and basic to intermediate understanding of a litigation support database, such as Relativity is desired.
In addition, the ability to perform Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw and PACER searches is necessary.
Advanced level cite-checking is required.
Bachelors degreeĀ
DUTIES:
Support top two senior attorney members in the practice come into the office about three days a week, other attorneys in the practice average about two-days a week in the office.
This person would work directly with attorneys and two other senior paralegals and one junior paralegal in the litigation practice.
Most of the training would come from the senior paralegals.
The ability to work independently is beneficial since one of the senior paralegals will be on leave for a month starting in November and there will be a void in the workforce.
We are hoping to fill the void with this individual.
Some of the duties for this candidate will be to conduct research, supervise all aspects of a project from copying to filing with courts, and reviewing and tracking invoices for the group.
