About the Job
Responsibilities:
- Maintain permit and license compliance and corporate entity formation and renewals
- Schedule and track all corporate compliance and real estate transactional deadlines
- Assist with entity formations and registrations, dissolutions, conversions, obtain EINs, draft organizational charts, and various organizational documents, including transaction consents/resolutions
- Draft organizational documents, such as Operational and LLC Agreements for newly formed entities.
- Prepare responses to requests for information from various external sources
- Research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, case law, legal articles, and regulatory sources
- Communicate regularly with attorneys regarding the status of projects and deadlines and inform attorneys of any issues that arise
- Prepare/review purchase and sale agreements and real estate closing paperwork
- Order and review title exams, ALTA surveys, zoning reports and UCC searches
- Coordinate closings including preparing closing checklists, escrow letters and closing binders
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
- Paralegal certificate preferred
- At least 5 years of commercial real estate experience, preferably in a large law firm setting, in-house legal department of a real estate firm or a title company
- Strong commitment to quality of service and quality of work is required
- Must be a reliable and positive team player
- Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to work on multiple tasks at a time
- Notary public or willing to become a Notary
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
