The Seattle office of Ogletree Deakins, a premier, global labor and employment law firm representing management in all types of employment-related matters, has an exciting full-time opportunity for a Paralegal to join its growing office. Researches law, investigates facts, and prepares documents to assist attorneys. Independently researches and analyzes law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes to prepare legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, appeals for review, approval, and use by attorney.
This role does not require travel and offers a hybrid work schedule after a preliminary period. Our office is collegial and professional with a commitment to mutual respect in the workplace. Essential Functions:- Researches law, investigates facts, and independently prepares documents to assist attorneys with matters
- Summarizes complex legal documents
- Organizes and indexes case files
- Determines and calendars deadlines
- Performs wide variety of legal research and data compilation with little or no supervision
- Files pleadings with court clerk
- Prepares reports, correspondence, declarations and complaints
- Drafts a variety of legal documents
- Prepares affidavits or documents and maintains document file
- Prepares for mediations and trials
- Assists Attorneys at trial
- Assists Attorney in preparation for depositions
- Communicates with witnesses and experts
- Scheduling
- Enters billing and expense data into Firm system in a timely manner
- Paralegal certification / degree from accredited college or university
- 4+ years of paralegal experience, preferably working in a labor/employment litigation practice
- Proficient in all Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook; Lexis-Nexis and WestLaw, Live Note, Concordance, Case Map, Docketing, Document Management System, expense and billing systems

Benefits:In accordance with the Washington Equal Pay and Opportunities act, the expected salary range for this Washington position is between $51,500 and $98,500. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.
