Job Summary:
Seeking a Trust and Estate Probate Litigation Paralegal for Boca. They will support attorneys in managing trust and estate matters, including probate administration, trust administration, and estate planning. This role requires a thorough understanding of probate and estate laws, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases with professionalism and accuracy. Key Responsibilities:
Probate Administration:
- Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, and other necessary court documents.
- Assist with the preparation and filing of estate tax returns and other financial documentation.
- Coordinate with court personnel, creditors, and beneficiaries regarding probate matters.
- Track and manage probate deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements.
Trust Administration:
- Assist in the administration of trusts, including the preparation of trust documents, funding of trusts, and managing trust distributions.
- Draft correspondence and documentation related to trust administration and ensure compliance with trust terms and applicable laws.
- Coordinate with trustees, beneficiaries, and financial institutions to facilitate the administration of trusts.
Estate Planning:
- Assist in drafting and reviewing estate planning documents, such as wills, powers of attorney, and advance directives.
- Conduct research on legal and tax issues related to estate planning and trust management.
- Organize and maintain client files, including ensuring all documents are complete and properly filed.
Client and Court Interaction:
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address questions.
- Schedule meetings, court appearances, and deadlines for probate and trust matters.
- Prepare for and attend court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings as necessary.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of estate and trust matters.
- Manage and organize case files, including scanning and filing documents electronically.
- Perform general office duties, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing correspondence.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a paralegal in trust and estate, probate, or related areas.
- Proficiency with legal research tools, probate and estate management software, and case management systems.
- Strong understanding of probate procedures, trust administration, and estate planning principles.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
