We are looking for compassionate and motivated Paraprofessionals to work alongside certified teachers to support the instructional, educational, behavioral and social-emotional needs of students.

As a Paraprofessional, you will play a crucial role in assisting special education teachers by providing small group and individualized instruction, implementing behavior intervention plans and supporting students in both the classroom and community settings. This is a temp-to-perm position with the potential for long-term employment offering a competitive pay range of $17.50-$18.50 per hour based on experience. The position runs Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM for a 9-month period with summers off.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; 48 hours of college coursework or Project Para training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of childhood growth and development.
• Ability to select and use appropriate training/instructional methods.
• Proven ability to effectively supervise and engage with children.
• General knowledge of relevant academic subjects.
• Computer proficiency and ability to work effectively in an in-person learning environment.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ability to follow them.
• Ability to pass a background check.

Responsibilities:

• Support teachers in meeting the instructional, educational, behavioral and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Provide small group and individualized instruction in accordance with students’ IEPs and lesson plans.
• Collect instructional and behavioral data for all objectives being taught.
• Implement Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Communicate proactively with teachers and inform them of student issues and parent conversations.
• Respond to emails and phone calls from school leaders and teachers promptly.
• Assist during standardized testing.
• Prepare daily lesson plan materials and make copies for students.
• Assist with the distribution of food, supplies, materials, and equipment.
• Monitor students' movement throughout the school building.
• Assist with classroom and cafeteria clean-up and uphold sanitation standards.
• Assist in the orderly, expedient and safe transition of students.
• Assist students with physical needs, healthcare procedures and the use of assistive technology devices.
• Engage in professional learning opportunities and assist with training volunteers.
• Maintain prompt and regular attendance and be available to work on-site during regular business hours.
• Perform other duties as assigned by an appropriate administrator or their representative.
