Parent Educator/Case Manager - Buckner International

We are seeking a Parent Educator/Case Manager to join our HOPES Program. As aParent Educator/Case Manager, you will Shine Hope as you deliver services based on the Parent as Teachers Program model, including home visits, parent support groups and periodic developmental screenings to eligible client families. You will provide families with information regarding child development and effective parenting techniques with sensitivity to cultural and socio-economic needs of each client. You will also positively present this program and the need for such programs to the local community, and serve as a resource for program collaboration, the community, and other BCFS programs. Join our team and shine hope in the lives of others! 

What you'll do:

• Recruit and engage families to receive services and determine family eligibility.
• Coordinate home visits as prescribed in the Program for the purpose of observing and providing information to parents.
• Perform approved developmental screening tool on all children in case load and document and report results.
• Provide resource and referral services linking families with community resources and support systems.
• Utilizing Parents as Teachers curriculum, conduct parent education either in the home as well as delivering monthly parent support groups while ensuring fidelity to the model is maintained at all times.
• Manage caseloads and, timely and accurately prepare various documentation for the purpose of providing information required for program compliance.
• Work with the families to build on the families' strengths to effect needed change.
• Model appropriate adult/child interactions to families.
• Serve as a HOPES Ambassador to the community.
• Work effectively with diverse family types; exhibit cultural sensitivity; affirm cultural, racial and linguistic identity.

 What you'll bring:

• Requires a basic understanding of a comprehensive field of knowledge normally associated with the attainment of a Bachelor's degree.
• Requires ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable; must provide proof of liability insurance and must be eligible to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
• Requires ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people.
• Requires ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time.
