CLASS SUMMARY: |
TYPICAL CLASS ESSENTIAL DUTIES: |
1. | Supervises day-to-day operations in assigned area of responsibility, which includes: planning, coordinating, administering, and evaluating projects, processes, costs, procedures, systems, and standards; developing and coordinating work plans; inspecting in-progress and completed work to ensure conformance with established standards; assisting staff with complex activities and/or maintenance jobs; participating in the development of goals, objectives, and budgets; and, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal, State, and Local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards. |
2. | Supervises staff and/or contractors to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; processing payroll and accounts payable; ensuring staff are trained; ensuring that employees follow policies and procedures; and implementing hiring, termination, and disciplinary procedures. |
3. | Promotes and advances safety and efficiency of equipment by coordinating inspections, repairs, maintenance, and the operation of equipment and vehicles; coordinates or participates in purchasing supplies, equipment, and resources; and may obtain quotes for equipment. |
4. | Prepares, maintains, updates, and/or submits reports, records, bills, work orders, logs, and other documentation; and uses, maintains, and/or updates databases and computerized systems and software; work may involve compiling and/or coding data. |
5. | Identifies, responds to, investigates, and resolves complex issues and concerns from customers or related to safety issues; conducts follow-ups to determine customer satisfaction and service quality |
6. | Coordinates with internal/external departments, personnel, and agencies, and participates in a variety of meetings to receive and communicate information, and facilitate and evaluate operations and processes. |
7. | Performs other duties of a similar nature or level. |

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: |
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of forces constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous physical conditions, such as, mechanical parts, electrical currents, and vibrations; atmospheric conditions, such as fumes, odors, gases, and poor ventilation; hazardous materials, such as chemicals, blood, and other bodily fluids; extreme temperatures; inadequate lighting; work space-related movement restrictions; intense noise; and other environmental conditions, such as, challenging behaviors, imminent danger, and threatening environments. |
