Position Summary:This position is committed to providing world class service for all Rhode Island Convention Center and Amica Mutual Pavilion parking lots for all events and is responsible for the protection, outdoor protection and safeguarding of Guests and Employees and their vehicles. The position requires physical activity including standing, walking, and climbing stairs.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $19.65 - $20.84.
This is a Unionized role with rates of pay and benefits determinded by the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Laborers International Union Local 1322.

The Rhode Island Convention Center (RICC) is located in the heart of Providence’s downtown. The RICC features 100,000 square feet of flexible exhibit space and an additional 67,000 square feet of ballroom, breakout and meeting spaces. Capable of hosting trade shows, consumer shows, exhibits, receptions, banquets, meetings, tournaments and competitions, and, of course, conventions, event planners will enjoy a collaborative partnership with our knowledgeable and professional staff. The RICC is connected to the Amica Mutual Pavilion and the 564-room Omni Providence Hotel, and in turn, Providence Place, a downtown shopping destination filled with big-name retailers and an assortment of dining and entertainment options. Known to locals as "The AMP PVD," the 14,000-seat Amica Mutual Pavilion (formerly the Dunkin' Donuts Center) is home to the AHL Providence Bruins and the Big East Providence College Friars. The arena hosts sporting events, major concerts, family shows and trade shows.
Responsibilities:- Greet and direct customers entering parking lots
- Communicate parking information to the public
- Sell parking tickets
- Accept cash or credit payment. Count back correct change as needed
- Use credit machine with personal identification number and building codes
- Work in a variety of parking locations and positions
- Document all cars going through booth as assigned
- Balance cash drawer at the end of shift as assigned
- Park/Direct cars quickly and efficiently
- Monitor lot during events, immediately contacting supervisor as issues arise
- Provide positive and friendly experience to all customers
- Set up A-frame signs, parking cones, and reserved parking signs
- Identify and problem solve parking issues; prevent when possible
- Provide directions as needed.
- Assist in site beautification by ensuring garage is free of debris and trash.
- Prior parking experience strongly preferred
- Customer Service and Cash Handling abilities are a must
- Must be polite, friendly and possess excellent interpersonal skills as this position has extensive guest andemployee contact
- Ability to multi-task
- Must have reliable transportation
- The ability to work various hours as needed including nights and weekends
- The physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and walk long distances
- Ability to work outdoors with extreme heat and weather conditions
