Parking Events Manager

Salary Range: $65,000 - 75,000 Commensurate with Experience, plus Incentive Bonus Potential

Work Modality: On Site 

Schedule: Full-time, Days, Evenings and Weekends 

Location: Columbus, Ohio (OSU)

Position Overview:

• Oversees the logistics for parking events at The Ohio State University/CampusParc.
• Ensuring that attendees, the University & partners have a smooth and efficient experience parking experience.
• Managing parking arrangements and staff to include 3-200, depending on event size.
• Addressing issues that arise related to parking.
• Progressive management experience with front-line team oversight

As Parking Events Manager, you will:

Planning and Coordination

• Develop and implement parking strategies based on the event's size, location, and expected attendance.
• Coordinate with event organizers to understand their parking needs and preferences.
• Review and approve work schedules to ensure adequate coverage while minimizing expenses.
• Respond to operational issues when needed (often, after normal business hours).

Budget Management

• Develop budgets and monitor financials to meet business goals.
• Manage and submit employee, operations, and payroll reports.
• Create and manage event budgets, ensure cost-effective solutions.
• Monitor and report on expenses, adhering to guidelines.

Staff Management

• Train and supervise Assistant Managers, Supervisors, and other Event Staff involved in managing parking.
• Ensure staff are well-informed about their roles and responsibilities.
• Assign tasks and ensure effective communication among all Team members.

           Client and Stakeholder Relations

• Develop and maintain strong client relations and attend client meetings.
• Primary contact for the University & client ensuring needs and expectations are met
• Foster positive relationships to build long-term partnerships.

Logistics and Layout

• Design and implement parking layouts to maximize space and efficiency.
• Directs staff on signage and other infrastructure to guide attendees to parking areas.

Customer Service

• Assist supervisors in handling customer complaints and day-to-day operational issues.
• Address parking-related issues or complaints from event attendees.
• Provide clear instructions and assistance to ensure a smooth parking experience.

           Safety and Compliance

• Ensure all parking areas are safe and compliant with local regulations.
• Manage traffic flow to prevent congestion and accidents.

Communication

• Liaise with local authorities, such OSUPD, Columbus PD & State Highway Patrol  to manage road closures or special regulations.
• Communicate parking information to staff through various channels, such as websites, social media, or event apps.

Post-Event Evaluation

• Analyze the effectiveness of the parking arrangements and gather feedback.
• Prepare and present reports on event outcomes, including recommendations for improvement.

Skills:

• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and coordinate with various stakeholders.
• Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and resourcefulness to address any parking issues that arise.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff, attendees, and authorities.
• Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all aspects of parking are handled meticulously.
• Customer Service: Providing excellent service to enhance the attendee experience.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of parking revenue management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, valid drivers license

• Creative and Proactive: track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while ensuring Events run according to goals

Working Conditions:

• High flexibility to work long and irregular hours to include evenings, weekends and holidays as required by event schedules.
• May include standing for extended periods and handling event materials.
