About the Job
The Parking and Transportation Manager role at the World Equestrian Center Ocala is responsible for overseeing all aspects of parking, traffic management, and transportation services during events. This role involves collaborating with other departments and strategic planning to ensure safe and efficient operations. In addition, the Parking and Transportation Manager leads and directs the Traffic Safety and Transportation team, providing guidance, instructions, and support to ensure that all staff members uphold the highest standards of safety and service. As a key leadership role, the Manager must foster a culture of Quality, Class, and Distinction by delivering outstanding customer service and ensuring the department personnel consistently exceed guest expectations.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training department team members
- Provide ongoing training to ensure the team meets safety and service standards
- Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner
- Provide department with clear instructions and support during events
- Adjust daily staffing as needed, extending or shortening shifts based on event demand
- Plan department shift breaks and provide coverage for stations when necessary
- Monitor traffic flow, identify potential bottlenecks, and mitigate vehicle obstructions
- Direct and prioritize traffic movement to minimize delays while proactively addressing hazards
- Develop and manage work schedules to ensure adequate event coverage
- Oversee department payroll and ensuring accurate timekeeping
- Conduct regular performance reviews and handle corrective actions to maintain team standards
- Respond to emails promptly, coordinating logistics and providing updates
- Manage the procurement and inventory of department equipment
- Collaborate with other departments on event logistics and attend event planning meetings
- Maintain consistent availability, aligned with the WEC events calendar
- Stay informed about daily events, parking locations, and ideal traffic patterns
- Manage WEC property tours and transportation
- Communicate occupancy and congestion updates to leadership and adjust strategies accordingly
- Plan, order, and place traffic control signs as appropriate
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education, Experience, Skills, and Abilities:
- Previous experience in parking, traffic management, or event operations is preferred
- 2-3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic
- environment
- Must have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to meet the
- demands of the events calendar
