POSITION: Part-time Adult Education Instructor/Test Administrator
SCHEDULE: Varies, Monday - Friday 8:30 – 1:30
LOCATION: Vocational Rehabilitation; Various Spartanburg County Adult Education locations
SALARY: $30.00/hour
QUALIFICATIONS: Current SC Teacher Certification, Minimum of 3 years successful teaching experience, Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills, Computer literate, with working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Coordinate scheduling and provide WIN Career Readiness Credential classes at Spartanburg County Vocational Rehabilitation locations;
- Provide WIN curriculum remediation and testing to Spartanburg County Adult Education students who attend classes at our various locations;
- Coordinate scheduling and administer required assessments, including but not limited to the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) and the WIN Career Readiness assessments to Spartanburg County Adult Education community partners;
- Direct and evaluate learning experiences of students through effective planning and adequate preparation;
- Manage adult classroom to provide an attractive and inviting educational environment;
- Ensure proper use of equipment, materials, and supplies;
- Execute school/site administrative policies and translate such policies to the community in a professional manner;
- Prepare, present, and evaluate instructional materials;
- Maintain accurate records, including attendance, and submit required data and reports in a timely manner;
- Execute strategies to improve and maintain program outcomes;
- Communicate pertinent information shared from the county office with the students and staff at the site, including, but not limited to, testing schedules, policy changes, and training opportunities.
- Participate in a minimum of 15 hours annually of director approved local, regional, and/or state professional development activities as assigned;
- Attend monthly coordinator meetings at the Adult Education county office in Spartanburg;
- Keep informed of new trends and research studies regarding Adult Learning;
- Maintain positive and professional working relationships with colleagues.
- Provide a model in mature behavior for adults, including, but not limited to, dress, punctuality, and polite communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Adult Education.
