Part-Time Athletic Trainer - St. Luke's School

About the Job
The Part Time Athletic Trainer will be responsible for various aspects of sports medicine and athletic training, ensuring the health and safety of our student athletes. The position includes game and practice coverage, injury evaluation and management, field set up, rehabilitation scheduling and implementation, concussion management, paperwork and documentation, medication management, return-to-play decisions.
This is a 10 month position that would have a typical schedule of 2:00–7:00 pm on weekdays, with occasional Saturdays.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Provide athletic training support during contests and practices including assisting student athletes with injury prevention and care
- Evaluate and diagnose athletic injuries
- Develop and implement injury management and treatment plans
- Communicate with coaches, student-athletes, and parents regarding injury status and progress
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields for practices and contests
- Work with our full time Athletic Trainer in designing and implementing individualized rehabilitation programs
- Implement concussion protocols and monitor student athletes for signs of concussion
- Facilitate the return-to-play process following concussions
- Maintain accurate medical records in Magnus and treatment documentation
- Work with our full time Athletic Trainer to maintain the organization and cleanliness of the ATR and managing inventory of supplies and equipment
- Administer prescribed medications as necessary and maintain records and adhere to medication protocols
- Assess student athletes' readiness for return to play following injuries by collaborating with medical professionals to ensure safe return
Key Skills & Qualities
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and state licensure where required
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Strong knowledge of sports medicine, injury assessment, and treatment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Organizational and time management abilities
- Experience working with student-athletes and athletic teams
