Opportunity:
As a member of our Finance team, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely billing and payments, and supporting overall financial operations. This part-time position requires a high level of attention to detail, as you will be responsible for managing both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. You will collaborate with various departments to resolve discrepancies, respond to client inquiries, and contribute to month-end closing activities.

This role offers a flexible 25-hour workweek, with the potential for additional hours, spread across 4-5 days on the 1st shift. This opportunity is ideal for balancing professional duties with personal commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Generate and send invoices to clients accurately and on time.
• Monitor and follow up on outstanding invoices to ensure timely payments.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledger to account for all payments.
• Handle customer inquiries related to billing and payments.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
• Review and verify invoices for accuracy, ensuring proper authorization and coding.
• Process payments to vendors and suppliers promptly.
• Reconcile accounts payable transactions and maintain accurate records.
• Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to accounts payable.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports as required.
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records.
• Support audits and other financial reviews.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless financial operations.
• Other administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Eligible for US government security clearance (US Citizenship Required)
• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
• Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 95 % of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and/or other office productivity machinery, such as a copy machine or computer printer.
• May involve lifting of 15-25lbs
