Part-Time Clinical Assessor - NH CAT Assessments (Remote) - Maximus

About the Job
Maximus is currently hiring a Part Time Clinical Assessor to perform CAT assessments including CANS for contracted services in the state of New Hampshire and interviewing referred youth and their Family and Permanency Team members to make recommendation s for level of care and related clinically appropriate services.
**This is a remote position working within an 8am - 5pm Eastern Time work schedule.**
Program Specific Duties and Responsibiliti es :
- Employ a trauma-informe d, person-centere d approach to all assessment and clinical activities
- Review all referral information and supporting document available in Maximus' database prior to completing the interviews.
- Identify and obtain required Release of Information from parent(s) or legal guardian in accordance with contract requirements and State regulations
- Schedule and conduct clinical interviews via TEAMS or Zoom. First interview must occur within 7 days of referral receipt.
- Complete CANS assessment in RCR system
- Complete Supplemental Clinical questions in Assessment Pro
- Complete assessment report, applying clinical decision-makin g model to make clinical recommendation s for level of care and services and submit to Quality Clinician
- Consult Lead Quality Clinician or other supervisory or medical staff when indicated
- Required travel using personal motor vehicle
- Complete other job duties as assigned or necessary
Program Specific Minimum Q ualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a human services, healthcare or closely related field.
- At least two (2) years of experience working directly with children or adolescents with a behavioral health diagnosis
- CANS certification or the ability to complete and maintain CANS certification (Recertificati on is required annually), IM+CANS a plus
- Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentialit y policies and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of diverse cultures and issues, with the ability to incorporate special needs into assessment decisions
- Working knowledge and understanding of behavioral health and medical diagnoses, child welfare and development, and prescribed medications
- Ability to multitask while effectively performing job duties, which include prioritizing tasks and ensuring all voice mail and email messages are monitored and responded to within 2 hours of receipt
- Excellent organization skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact professionally with referral sources (case managers, probation officers, hospital staff, physicians, community service workers, etc.), state contract officers, and coworkers while seeking or providing information
- Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions for supporting an excellent written assessment for QRTP determination
- Intermediate computer skills with experience in word processing, email, and spreadsheets (Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for completing medical and/or behavioral health assessments within contract requirements
- Conducts on-site, video call and/or telephonic assessments to determine an individual's needs for services and supports, eligibility, level of care or related outcome
- Perform all job duties in compliance with Person First standards, HIPAA guidelines, and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
- Travel may be required based on program contract requirements
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Preferred knowledge may include community support programs, long-term care assessment and level of care in medical, behavioral health or related programs
- Knowledge and understanding of medical and/or behavioral health diagnoses and prescribed medications
- Ability to collect data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Minimum Requirements
- Education and licensure requirements are based on program contract requirements and are outlined in job posting
- High School Degree or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience required
- LPN, RN, LCSW, or related licensure preferred and may be required based on contract requirements
