Seeking Part-Time Controller with Vehicle Dealership Experience!

About Us:
our client is a leading automotive dealership, known for their exceptional customer service and a wide range of high-quality vehicles. We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join our finance team. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of our dealership and ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance.

Key Responsibilities of the Dealership Accountant:

• Financial Reporting & Analysis:

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance, including key metrics such as gross profit, expenses, and net income.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights to management.

• General Ledger Maintenance:

  • Manage and maintain the general ledger, including posting journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations for bank accounts, floor plan, inventory, and other balance sheet accoun

• Process Improvement:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency and accuracy of financial operations.
  • Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes, recommending updates to policies and procedures as needed.

Qualifications of the Dealership Accountant:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with successful month-end closing processes
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an automotive dealership or similar industry.
• Proficiency in dealership management software (e.g., Reynolds & Reynolds, CDK Global) and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and automotive accounting principles.
