Part-Time Data Entry Specialist - TEXAS AFT AMP

Texas AFT has more than 66,000 members statewide and is the state affiliate of the American Federation of Teachers, with more than 1.8 million members. Texas AFT represents all non-administrative certified and classified public school employees in traditional public schools and some charter schools. We represent the interests of teachers, counselors, librarians, diagnosticians, custodians, food service workers, bus drivers, nurses, teaching assistants, clerical employees, and the other employees who work so hard to make our schools run. We also represent employees in universities, colleges, and community and junior colleges.  

Job position description: 

The Data Entry Specialist is a part-time position, expected to be no more than 25 hours a week. The candidate will be responsible for data maintenance within the data management and tracking systems utilized by Texas AFT and American Federation of Teachers. This role requires attention to detail, organizational and time management skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. The ideal candidate will also be comfortable between Texas AFT and outside financial entities. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Organize and categorize physical documents for storage 

Identify and securely dispose of outdated or unnecessary documents in accordance with company policies and compliance regulations. 

Digitize paper documents into electronic formats and file electronically. 

Assist with data extraction and report generation as needed. 

Support administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: 

Required 

High school diploma or equivalent. 

Proficient in data entry and tracking in Excel and Smartsheet 

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Preferred 

Proficiency in expense tracking with bill.com, Nexonia, and Abacus 

Accounts Payable and Receivable 

Previous data entry or administrative experience is a plus. 

Location: Austin, TX 

Salary & Benefits: This is a part time position. Hours are not expected to exceed 25 hours/week. Pay will be $20/hr.
