Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing cleaning and staff support functions in all areas of a building.
Essential Functions:
• Plans and oversees floor maintenance work, maintaining a high standard of safety cleanliness, and efficiency.
• Locks and unlocks doors; activates and deactivates alarm systems.
• Sweeps, mops, dust exam rooms, suites, offices, bathrooms, hallways, and specialty rooms. Keeps building and premises neat and clean at all times.
• Wipes and sanitizes toilets, sinks, mirrors, countertops, windows, and window sills and water fountains.
• Empties trash.
• Stock paper products in restrooms.
• Wax floors, operates buffing machine, and floor equipment.
• Vacuums and cares for building carpeting.
• Washes windows and polishes furniture.
• Picks up litter and debris on outside of building.
• May make minor repairs to equipment and furniture as needed.
• Comply with laws and procedures for storage and disposal of trash and waste.
• Monitor the timekeeping records and inspects work of Floor Technicians.
• Helps in the selection, assignment, scheduling, and training of custodial staff.
• Maintains inventory and recommends selection of suitable supplies, tools, and equipment.
• Inspect work of other custodial staff.
• Evaluate the performance of the custodial staff on a regular basis.
• Strive constantly to promote the safety, health, and comfort of the employees.
• Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
• Performs any other related duties as assigned by the Operations Manager or next level of management.
Job Specifications:
To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities Required):
• Method of maintaining, cleaning, and preserving a variety of surfaces; proper use of a wide range of chemicals according to established policies and regulated guidelines.
• Handling and disposing of hazardous materials and bloodborne pathogens with care. Read and understand the safety requirements as outlined for all cleaning products as displayed on MSDS sheets.
• Previous supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have considerable experience working as a custodian.
• Ability to follow safety precautions to avoid injuries of minor cuts, falls, bruises, burns, and scalds.
• Must have knowledge of building cleaning, procedures, and equipment.
• Ability to read and write English, also follow written and oral instructions.
• Possible exposure to bodily fluids in cleaning due to patient's illness or injury.
• Ability to use cleaning supplies and equipment economically and efficiently.
• Ability to complete written forms and records.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred with five (5) years of supervisory experience.
• Valid Driver's License and acceptable driving record is required.
• Background Check is required.

Must have the ability to stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to use cleaning equipment; to see and read printed material with or without vision aids; speak in audible tones, so that others may understand clearly; physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; to climb ladders, bend, stoop, walk, and reach overhead; ability to be exposed occasionally to fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and exposure to high noise levels. This position work schedule includes the participation or heading up evening or weekend projects.
