Overview
The Afterschool Instructor develops, plans, and implements age-appropriate curriculum in assigned area of expertise.
Schedule:
2024 and 2024/2025 School Year
02:30PM to 05:30PM or 03:00PM to 06:00PM (depending on school hours)
10 - 12 Hours per Week
Hourly Rate: $31.00
Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance in homework, tutoring, and test preparation
- Teach students skills in an area of expertise, such as sports, arts, literacy, computers, etc.
- Assist in the supervision of all enrolled students in the after school program
- Maintain student safety and provide a supportive learning environment
- Establish and maintain communication with staff members and families regarding all aspects of student involvement in the program
- Actively participate in staff development and training
- Help students improve social skills and assist in enrichment activities
Qualifications
Associates Degree Required/Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Work Experience Requirement: Must have effective classroom management skills, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality programming for youth. Two years of previous teaching experience highly desirable.
Qualified candidates must consent to and meet the pre-employment screening requirements for the NJ Department of Human Services (Child Abuse Record Information (CARI) Background Check, Criminal History Background Check, and Drug Screening).
