Part time (or full time including one weekend day) Nanny required for an UES family with two toddler boys (ages 1 + 4), starting ASAP/early 2025. Specific duties to be negotiated with the family, but in general, you will be responsible for providing nurturing care and interacting in a warm, affectionate and age-appropriate way with both children. To be successful in this role, you will need to be someone engaged, calm and compassionate who is wanting to partner with the parents and full time nanny in a happy household. Some household duties are expected during school hours/when Mother is home. The ideal candidate is someone who has energy for handling two children, is flexible and is an open communicator. Experience with multiple children is desired plus confidence and experience with toddler milestones and development. Overall, the family is looking for a wonderful nanny who integrates seamlessly with their family and who can support them long term.
Location: UES, NYC
Start date: ASAP
Days/times: Monday to Friday; ideal start time is 3.00pm for hand off/crossover with full time nanny, and finishing at 8pm to assist with evening and bedtime routines. Family open to guaranteeing between 25-35 hrs for the right candidate. If the candidate is looking for more hours, the family is open to consistent weekend coverage. The candidate should be flexible to cover more traditional hours (8am start) as needed when the other nanny is on vacation, sick days, etc.
Children: Two boys - born May 2020 + Sep 2023. Older son is in school Monday through Friday (mornings).
Conditions: $30-$35 per hour* plus unlimited monthly Metrocard, sick/personal days, public holidays and two weeks paid leave per year *dependent on experience
For further consideration, applicants must possess the following:
- Authorization to work in the US
- A minimum of 2 years experience as a nanny, 3-5 years preferred in NYC
- A well-suited demeanor for working with toddlers + school age children
- Exceptional childcare references that attest to strong communication skills, reliability, punctuality, maturity and high emotional intelligence
- Education/Degree or equivalent knowledge of ages and stages of child growth and development
- Ability to commit for a minimum of 1+ year(s) for the family
- Readiness to help with light housekeeping and all tasks related to childcare (meal prep, organizing, laundry, etc.). Family does have a housekeeper x2 week, but keeping areas clean + tidy is a general expectation of this role.
