Part-Time Position – Home Visitor for ParentChild+ Inc. - ParentChild+

The ParentChild+ site in Center Moriches, NY (Suffolk County - Long Island) is looking to fill the role of Early Learning  Specialist - Home Visitor. The Early Learning Specialist visits families in their homes to model techniques that promote language development and learning through play.  We are looking for individuals who feel passionate about supporting parents in preparing their children for academic success.

Job responsibilities:

• Visit with assigned families in their homes on a twice-weekly basis demonstrating reading, play, and verbal interaction behaviors with two or three-year-old children and their parents or primary caregivers.

• Complete required paperwork and data entry on a weekly basis, including preparing written anecdotal reports on each visit and conducting regular child development and parent-child interaction assessments.

Qualifications:

• Warmth and patience in dealing with toddlers and families
• Ability to work with families from different ethnicities and cultures
• Can pass background check with the Department of Education
• Basic computer skills
• Have transportation and a cell phone
• Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently
• Bilingual in Spanish.   Preferred, but not required
