Part-Time South Shore Education Manager - Trustees

About the Job
Job specific skills and competencies preferred or desired:
Coastal ecology and/or farm experience desired including working with domestic animals, vegetable crop production, and a basic understanding of a working livestock farm.
Experience developing and conducting site-based interpretive educational programs
The ability to develop experiential, inquiry-driven curriculum that draws on the unique identity of the place, the important mission of the organization, and in line with Massachusetts Curriculum Framework standards
Must have managerial experience, having directly managed staff including hiring, performance management, and evaluation.
Must have a thorough understanding of regulatory requirements for a Massachusetts summer camp
Proven leadership and management skills, an ability to lead, inspire, motivate and work cooperatively and harmoniously with fellow employees, volunteers, committees, members and the public.
Proven ability to complete assigned tasks and projects, meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking.
A strong commitment to the mission of The Trustees of Reservations.
The position requires a significant amount of outdoor work in variable weather and occasional work with a variety of farm animals. Experience with farm-based educational programming is highly desirable.
Experience in program registration, staffing and budgeting.
The physical and mental wherewithal to teach outdoors, sometimes under difficult circumstances.
A positive attitude, team-oriented, flexible approach and a commitment to achieving the goals of Weir River Farm and World’s End, and The Trustees are a key part of the job.
Other Requirements:
A valid driver’s license, as well as a satisfactory driving record
Satisfactory CORI and SORI results
Working evenings weekends and holidays required
Physical Demands:
The ability to lift 40 lbs. independently.
Spend periods of time standing during events.
