Position Overview:
The Part-Time Staff Development Coordinator will be responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing training and development programs for our staff. The ideal candidate is an experienced healthcare professional with a strong background in education, training, and compliance within a skilled nursing facility or similar setting. This role is vital in promoting professional growth, ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the skill set of our dedicated staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver orientation and ongoing training programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Conduct regular training sessions on topics such as infection control, patient safety, resident rights, and emergency procedures.
- Assess training needs through staff evaluations, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain up-to-date training records and ensure compliance with state, federal, and company standards.
- Collaborate with leadership and department heads to identify and address specific training needs within each department.
- Facilitate and manage competency evaluations and ensure staff meet required certifications and licensures.
- Stay current with best practices, regulatory updates, and innovative training methods to enhance staff development initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) preferred, with experience in skilled nursing or rehabilitation.
- Prior experience in staff development, education, or a similar role in a healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of federal and state regulatory requirements, especially regarding skilled nursing.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills, with an ability to present complex information in a clear, engaging manner.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and training platforms is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and motivate a diverse team.
