Description:
Entech Staffing Solutions is seeking a Testing Center Support Assistant for an Educational institution in Flint, MI. This is a part-time temp/contract position. The position has an on-site work schedule. Pay Rate: $19.38
The Testing Center Support Assistant is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the school’s testing center. This role ensures efficient, accurate, and secure administration of placement exams, assessments, and other standardized tests. The assistant will work closely with students, faculty, and staff to facilitate testing services that support student academic success and placement into appropriate courses.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the placement and assessment testing process, including scheduling, proctoring, and scoring.
Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal testing guidelines.
Administer various standardized tests such as placement exams, ESL assessments, and other certification or proficiency tests as needed.
Provide information and guidance to students about testing requirements, preparation, and procedures.
Assist students with scheduling and rescheduling tests, ensuring accessibility accommodations as needed.
Communicate test results to students in a timely manner, providing guidance on next steps in course placement.
Maintain the physical and technological environment of the workspace, ensuring that all equipment is functioning and the testing environment meets security and comfort standards.
Coordinate with IT to ensure proper setup of computer-based exams and troubleshooting of technical issues.
Ensure accurate and confidential management of testing records and data, including entering results into the student information system.
Compile and analyze testing data for internal reports and to provide recommendations on placement policies and improvements to testing services.
Adhere to all security protocols to prevent cheating and ensure the integrity of all testing processes.
Ensure compliance with ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) requirements for students who need accommodations.
Stay current with changes in testing policies, procedures, and technology, and implement these changes effectively.
Serve as a liaison between the center and academic departments, student services, and external testing agencies.
Promote awareness of testing services to prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff.
Participate in events related to placement and assessment, such as orientation or advising sessions.
Work very closely with the admissions staff to ensure students are moving through the enrollment process (testing, orientation, intake questionnaire and career coach, etc.).
Work closely with staff to ensure all students seeking the department services are serviced in a timely fashion.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field is preferred.
At least 2 years of experience in academic testing, student services, or a related area preferred.
Experience with test administration or management in a higher education setting is preferred.
Must pass a drug screening and criminal background check.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficient with office software (Microsoft Office Suite) and learning management systems.
