Parts Sales / Inventory Control Specialist - Riggs Industries

J&J Truck Bodies & Trailers is seeking a Parts Sales / Inventory Control Specialist for our Cumberland, MD location. This individual will sell replacement parts and perform post-delivery customer service. They will be responsible for inventory held by the company for production and inventory sold and shipped to customers, shops, suppliers, and distributors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other job-related duties may be assigned in compliance with state and federal regulations.

• Responsibilities include sales of stock replacement parts, manufactured replacement parts & aftermarket equipment.
• Must be able to read blueprints and capable of performing takeoffs & estimating.
• Will develop quotes for repair work.
• Strong mechanical aptitude necessary; familiarity with J&J products a plus.
• Strong computer skills, data entry & familiarity with MS Office are necessary.
• Must have excellent phone and customer service skills.
• Read catalogs, or computer displays to determine replacement part stock numbers and prices.
• Determine replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, drawings, work orders, and customer requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
• Receive and fill telephone orders for parts.
• Fill customer orders from stock.
• Prepare sales slips or sales contracts.
• Receive payment or obtain credit authorization.
• Take inventory of stock.
• Advise customers on substitution or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available.
• Examine returned parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money.
• Observe and comply with all provisions of the ISO 9001 QMSObserves and comply with all safety rules, including the use of PPE.

Education and/or Experience:

• High school diploma and one year's related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
