Job Summary: The Parts Supervisor is responsible for the daily supervision of the Parts Department functions
Assists the Parts Manager in evaluating, allocating, and directing all human, physical, and financial resources for the parts department
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources;3) Participate in ongoing self-development
Essential Functions:Performs parts counter functions on a daily basis to include but not limited to customer parts orders/returns, backorder analysis reports, shop action pending reports, and customer action pending reports
Performs parts warehouse functions on a daily basis including but not limited to parts stock order recommendations/processing, vendor invoice coding, inventory receipting, inventory surplus returns and reconciliation, core processing, warranty parts returns, bin/cycle counts, etc.
Assists the Parts Manager with implementation, control, and accomplishment of the parts operation business plan to ensure achievement of parts sales goals as well as continued organizational success and stability
Assists the Parts Manager with directing the parts personnel by setting workday and after-hours schedules, time reporting, parts counter coverage, monitoring overtime, etc.
Performs administrative functions to include but not limited to cash account reconciliation (daily recaps/deposits), reporting, parts department audits, etc.
Supervises the Parts Department operations
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience
Experience/knowledge of Parts Systems, processes, policies, procedures and compliance
Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with both internal and external customers
Skill in the use of mechanical lifting devices used in warehouse operations
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to define performance measures related to the business operations and hold associates accountable for the same
Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions
Consulting and influencing abilities
Ability to prepare reports and maintain records
Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, agencies, organizations, and the public
Ability to make arithmetic computations
Ability to use a handheld device such as communication or measurement devices
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Accounting, Business Management, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of experience and education
Minimum of three years of related experience required
Forklift Certification required
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position directs and manages the Parts Counter Representative, Warehouse Clerk, and Cashier/Clerk positions
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; coaching and development; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Travel:
Travel up to 10% with possible overnight
Valid driver’s license
Physical Requirements:
This position involves extended periods in a stationary position; additionally, frequent movement inside a warehouse environment
This role frequently communicates with others and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Frequently moves product or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina
Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet, and climb up and down ladders or stairs
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Work Environment:
This job is generally performed in a warehouse environment; in environmentally controlled conditions, operating a computer, manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and repetitive motion
Occasionally works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
