We are looking for a full-time experienced pastry assistant to prepare a variety of healthy desserts, pastries and other baked goods. Your skill in baking high-quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts and passionate about sweet and delicious creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving. The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction to maintain and expand our clientele. This role is crucial in preparing and cooking pastries that reflect our commitment to using local and seasonal ingredients, promoting nutrition for academic and athletic performance, and practicing sustainability in our culinary operations
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, bread etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
- Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
- Maintain a clean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards
- Prepare and bake according to established recipes and standards
- Utilize local and seasonal ingredients to create nutritious and flavorful dishes
- Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met at all times
- Contribute to the maintenance of a sustainable kitchen environment by minimizing waste and practicing eco-friendly cooking methods
- Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
- Answer, report and follow all operational instructions
- Completing all tasks, in order, on the prep list from the Executive Pastry Chef
- Labeling and stocking all ingredients on easily accessible shelves
- Clean up station and kitchen daily
- Stock inventory appropriately
- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
