About the Job
Successful candidate will be hardworking, motivated, self-starter with a great personality and ability to manage time well, even if working independently, but also work as part of a collaborative team.
- Operate and manage the pastry section of a kitchen, working together with the other chefs
- Possess knowledge of pastry techniques, scaling, mixing, proofing, baking, decorating, and finishing
- Prepare a variety of baked goods
- Decorate and present pastries and baked goods in a tasteful and beautiful way
- Arrange food on serving dishes for the Market and is responsible for portion control and plate presentation
- Monitor and order ingredients, supplies and equipment
- Meet with customers to discuss custom-made desserts or baked goods for special occasions
- Ensure the bakery section of the kitchen adheres to health and safety regulations
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Identify staffing needs, help to recruit new personnel
- Train, guide and motivate pastry assistants
- Develop new seasonal recipes and menus and keep up with the latest trends
- Collaborate with other chefs coordinate dessert offerings with the main menu
Qualifications:
- Embody our Core Values at all times
- Must maintain composure at all times
- Previous working experience as Pastry Chef for 4 year(s)
- Certificate in culinary arts or similar relevant field
- Strong passion for the art of food design
- Creative flair and a passion for exterminating with new dessert concepts
- Extensive knowledge of pastry techniques, flavor profiles, and presentation
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk/stand for long periods; for an entire shift
- Ability to lift up 50lbs occasionally
- Ability to work in a food/wine environment
- Ability to climb stairs
- Bending at waist, sitting, kneeling, climbing, walking, crouching as job may require
Full time: weekends/holidays/days
55k-59k annually based on experience
