Reports to: Executive Pastry Chef
Overview:
The Pastry Cook preparesall baked goods and desserts and makes sure servers deliver each dish tocustomers in a timely manner. The PastryCook is responsible for that station's workflow and getting the prep listcompleted in a timely and efficient manner, as well as plated desserts andorders out to guests on time. They oversee the baking process from start tofinish and determine how much time each step requires.The PastryCook must be organized and self-motivated to uphold the high standards set inplace by coworkers and management.
Job Responsibilities:
- Sets up ala carte and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
- Prepares bakery items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and kneading.
- Prepares food items by using the ovens and stovetop, as well as the large bakery mixer, ice cream maker, and other small kitchen appliances.
- Follow recipes and instructions per Executive Pastry Chef and uphold high standards set.
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Store product in containers with visible label and consolidate if possible.
- Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.

Educationand Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- One to two years of experience as a baker, pastry cook, or pastry apprentice.
- Certificate in Culinary/Pastry Arts preferred.
- Experience with various baking methods and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices
