Summary:
We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Pastry Assistant to assist in the preparation and production of our pastry offerings. As a vital member of our kitchen team, you will work closely with our pastry chef to create and execute a variety of delicious desserts, pastries, and baked goods that elevate the dining experience for our guests.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and production of a diverse range of pastries, desserts, and baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
- Execute tasks such as mixing, baking, decorating, and plating pastry items with precision and attention to detail.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pastry station, including equipment, tools, and workspaces.
- Collaborate with the pastry chef and culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
- Contribute to inventory management by monitoring ingredient levels, rotating stock, and assisting with ordering as needed.
- Support the pastry team during busy service periods by efficiently managing workload and prioritizing tasks.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a pastry cook or similar role in a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including baking, piping, decorating, and finishing.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining quality and consistency.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Culinary degree or relevant training is preferred but not required.
