Shift: Part-Time (20 hours), Monday & Wednesday, 10:30am - 6pm / Friday, 11:30am - 6pm

Pathologist’s Assistant
who is a graduate of an
NAACLS Accredited PA Training Program
. This individual: + Provides technical assistance to pathologists in surgical pathology and autopsy procedures. + Prepares, processes, examines and assists in the analysis of tissues. + Monitors Resident and directs the workflow for maximum efficiency of department personnel. + Initiates action to obtain legal authorization for necropsy. + Provides medical residents with instruction in the use of photography equipment and procedures for routine dissections and autopsies. + May dien autopsy cases to assist pathologist. + Provides data which indicates the presence of bio-hazards so that appropriate handling precautions may be taken. + Performs other related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Physical or Biological Science or certification obtained prior to 2003. + Must be PA (ASCP) certified or eligible and pass exam within 18 months of hire.
