We are searching for a talented Patient Access Intake Specialist
*$1,500 new hire sign-on bonus for this position. (rehires termed more than 1 year also eligible)*
Hours: 40hrs
Shift: Day Shift, 8:00am - 4:30pm

Compensation: Pay rate will be determined based on level of experience.
Responsibilities:Under the general direction of the Manager, Team Leader, Patient Service Center, or designee, perform a wide variety of duties to facilitate patient access to physician practice services throughout Southcoast Physicians Group and Network. These duties may consist of such things as transcribing orders, canceling appointments, accurately documenting in the referral record, management of the electronic faxed via Release of Information (ROI). Ensure all services requiring a referral is processed with the appropriate supporting clinical documentation according to department standards ensuring optimal reimbursement to the organization. Utilizing payer portals to submit for insurance referrals efficiently and accurately to avoid delays in patient care. Work as a liaison between physician offices, insurance carriers and other clinical services both within and outside the system to assure coordination of patient care while maintaining patient satisfactions. Discussing estimates for scheduled services as needed based on identified plans. Using critical thinking skills to insure appropriate CPT/ICD-9 codes are documented for appropriate service and payment.Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- Certificate in Medical Terminology is preferred.
- CHAM (Certified Healthcare Access Manage) or CHAA (Certified Healthcare Access Associate) is preferred.
- Previous call center or customer service experience is preferred.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, and other software programs is preferred.
- Very good organizational skills are required.
- Over three (3) years of related healthcare experience, including working with third party payers is preferred.
- Must be fully vaccinated against seasonal Influenza and the COVID 19 virus or to be exempt from the requirement for medical or personal reasons by signing a statement certifying you are choosing to be exempt from vaccination once hired
