Patient Access Rep -Insurance verifier, Patient Access Dept, Full Time, Flex Shift - Steward Health Care

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the Patient Access/verification of insurance benefits and securing pre-certifications and authorizations on all pre-admitted and directly admitted patients. Makes financial arrangements for patient care encounters. Documents and processes patient financial information.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS -Preferred:

• Previous work experience in the Medical field.
• Be accurate with names and numbers.
• Additional languages.
• Basic computer skills.
• High School graduate or equivalent.

CUSTOMER SERVICE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs duties and conducts interpersonal relationships in a manner designed to project a positive image of the department and the hospital.
• Works with supervisor/manager and other members of section or department to promote a harmonious work environment.
• Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other hospital personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.
• Answers telephones in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Displays concern and provides assistance as appropriate to callers or in face-to-face situations.
• Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
• Works with customers and identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
