Responsibilities:OCCUPATIONAL SUMMARY
Directs and coordinates the registration functions and personnel. The duties of this position require the exercise of courtesy and patience in speaking with patients, families, and others to maintain sound public relations.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Handles problems, inquiries, and complaints.
- Makes individual work assignments, and follows‑up to ensure that duties have been accomplished.
- Monitors individual attendance and punctuality by checking and verifying hours worked each day and providing direct and immediate feedback to the supervisor regarding employee attendance on a daily basis.
- Trains and orients new employees, and assists supervisor in preparing performance appraisals. Monitors employee customer service skills by observing patient/employee interactions.
- Works closely with supervisor to report and resolve operational problems, and employee deficiencies in work performance.
- Regularly performs the duties and responsibilities of the Admissions Representatives.
- Prepares routine reports of department activity, and orders supplies as needed.
- Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
- Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury‑accident to Supervisor/Manager.
REQUIRED:
- Zero (0) to two (2) years experience in admitting or related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of admitting functions and responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently, and train and direct others.
PREFERRED:
- Associate's degree in Business Administration.
- Prior healthcare experience and knowledge of medical terminology.
- CHAA and/or CPAR certified.
