- JOB SUMMARY
- Greets patients and determines their needs. Provides the initial contact between the patient and the organization. Arrange for the accurate, efficient, and orderly admission of patients; ensures that accurate, comprehensive demographic information is acquired and keyed into the hospital’s database; acquires all required signatures for permission to treat, release of patient information, and assignment of benefits forms required for entitlement programs and insurance purposes. Responsible for obtaining and scanning insurance cards, driver’s license or photo I.D. along with required registration forms. Responsibilities also include completing all registrations and admissions to the facility as well as accepting patient payments as directed; auditing files and updating patient information. Responsibilities also include verifying, auditing, researching, and updating patient information. Responsible for running Surepay and/or Eligibility Plus verification on all self-pay, entitlement, and commercial insurance accounts to ensure accurate eligibility and benefit information; accurately calculating patient copayment, co-insurance and deductible amounts along with estimating the amount of patient responsibility and explaining the information to the patient during the registration process. Responsible for ensuring that each physician order is accurately placed into the system as needed. Responsible for identifying patients that may require financial assistance and providing them with the Medical Assistance application and explanation of the program. Ensures that adequate levels of supplies are maintained. Responsibilities also include accepting patient payments and placing the appropriate discounts in the system. Provides relief to the Receptionist/Operator and other clerical staff in the Admitting department when needed. Must believe in and promote the mission and vision of Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County.
- JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent required. Typing speed 40 wpm minimum required.
Job Knowledge and Skills:- Excellent communication skills, good data entry, and computer skills.
