Honor Community Health is a 501c3 Federally Qualified Health Center co-located within 20 locations. Our mission is to provide for the health and wellness needs of the underserved of Oakland County through the provision of comprehensive, integrated primary, behavioral health, and dental care. Position Description
The full-time, non-exempt Patient Access Specialist reports to the Revenue Cycle Manager and works in cooperation with their Practice Manager. The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in the high performing healthcare team at Honor Community Health, serving as key resource for patients, helping them navigate the healthcare system and understand their financial obligations and options. Works collaboratively to create and maintain a culture of excellence and dedication to providing compassionate and high-quality health care to all.
What are we looking for?
- )High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- 6 months of experience in patient access, registration, insurance eligibility and verification, or a similar role in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of insurance verification processes and medical billing practices.
- Strong computer skills utilizing
- Electronic health record (NextGen preferred)
- Microsoft Office Software
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication, customer service, and organization skills.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations and patient privacy laws (HIPAA)
