PATIENT ACCOUNT REP 2 - BILLING DENIAL/CREDIT SPECIALIST (REQ 3720) - South Peninsula Hospital

This Patient Account Rep 2 - Billing Denial / Credit Specialist position is located in our Patient Financial Services Department.

Hours:

This is a full-time 40 hour per week benefited position, 8 hours per day.

Starting Salary:

$25.81 - $36.54/hr; Rate is for less than one year up to 30 years of experience. Rate is based on years of experience.

What you'll do:

• Under the general direction of their supervisor, verify all the information necessary to properly refund and appeal claims to Medicaid, Veterans Administration, and Commercial Insurance.
• Review all insurance accounts on a consistent basis and will telephone customer support to expedite processing for promptness of payment and refunds.
• Be responsible for maintaining up-to-date Medicaid, VA, and Commercial Insurance policies and billing procedures.
• Be able to communicate effectively and pleasantly both over the phone and in person.

What you'll need:

• Be 18 years of age and have the minimum of a high school diploma
• Two to three years of experience in computerized hospital patient accounts.
• Ability to operate such general office machines as a computer, adding machine by touch, photocopier, FAX and multi-line switchboard phone system.
• Present a professional appearance, deal courteously and respectfully with patients.
• Ability to learn and follow established departmental policies.
• Ability to perform work with attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and be able to contribute to a pleasant, positive working environment.
